Euphausia superba
Antarctic krill is a shrimp-like crustacean around six centimetres long that forms swarms of enormous density. It is the central link in the Southern Ocean food web, feeding whales, seals, penguins, fish and seabirds. Its total biomass is among the largest of any wild animal species.
