Privacy

A small, separated data footprint.

Effective August 1, 2026. This page describes the rebuilt Daily Animal Facts service.

Public reading

You can read facts, profiles, archives and sources without an account. Saved fact links and quiz scores stay in your browser and are not synced to our servers.

Analytics

Analytics is off until you choose to allow it. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals are respected. Session recording and input capture are disabled. We use aggregate usage to understand whether public pages work; we do not sell personal data.

Newsletter

When you request the newsletter, your email address is encrypted at rest and a keyed hash is used to prevent duplicates. The request remains pending until you confirm it. We keep consent, preference and delivery events needed to operate the subscription and suppress mail after unsubscribe, bounce or complaint.

The single address collected by the former “interest only” form was quarantined. It was not treated as newsletter consent and was not activated.

Hub separation

The Baldwin Industries Hub receives signed aggregate readiness, metrics, source-health and delivery-health data. It never receives subscriber identities, reading history, draft content, private editorial notes or newsletter recipients.

Retention and security

Rate-limit hashes are kept briefly for abuse prevention. Operational and consent records are retained only as needed for delivery, security, legal obligations and correction history. Backups are access-controlled and tested through an additive rollback process.

Your choices

Every newsletter includes preferences and one-click unsubscribe. For access, deletion or privacy questions, contact hello@dailyanimalfacts.com. Some publication and security records may need to be retained for integrity or legal reasons.
