Animal profile
Paradoxurus hermaphroditus
The Asian palm civet is a nocturnal, largely arboreal viverrid that eats fruit, small animals and palm sap. It tolerates human-modified landscapes well and is common near villages and plantations. It is the animal at the centre of the kopi luwak coffee trade, which has driven widespread capture and caging.
