Gypaetus barbatus
A large mountain vulture with a diamond-shaped tail and a dark bristle tuft at the base of the bill. It is unique among birds in feeding mainly on bone, which it drops onto rock to break. Wild adults often appear rust-orange from deliberately bathing in iron-rich mud.
