Blanding's Turtle

Blanding's turtle has a domed dark shell speckled with yellow and a bright yellow throat and chin. It moves overland between wetlands far more than most freshwater turtles, which exposes it heavily to roads. It matures late and lives a long time, so adult losses are difficult for a population to absorb.
