The common bent-wing bat is a strongly cave-dependent species named for the sharply folded third finger that gives its wing a bent appearance in flight. It is a fast, high-flying insectivore that migrates between summer maternity caves and winter hibernacula. Large maternity colonies concentrate at very few sites.
