Animal profile
Nannopterum harrisi
The flightless cormorant is the only cormorant that has lost the ability to fly, and the heaviest member of its family. It has stubby, ragged wings and powerful legs, and forages on the seabed for eels, octopus and fish. Its entire world range is a short stretch of Galapagos coast.
