Giant Isopod

The giant isopod is a deep-sea relative of the woodlouse that reaches lengths above thirty centimetres. It scavenges carcasses that sink to the seabed and can go long periods without eating. Its large compound eyes and pale armoured segments make it one of the more recognisable deep-sea invertebrates.
