Giant Oceanic Manta Ray

The giant oceanic manta ray is the largest living ray, with a disc that can span roughly seven metres. It cruises open water and coastal upwellings, straining plankton through modified gill plates. Individuals are recognised by the pattern of dark blotches on the pale underside.
