Animal profile
Bolbometopon muricatum
The largest parrotfish, reaching about 1.3 metres and 45 kilograms, with a blunt bony forehead and fused beak-like teeth. It sleeps in groups inside reef caves and feeds by biting directly into living coral. Its size and predictable night roosts make it very easy to spearfish.
