Green Sea Turtle

The green turtle is the largest hard-shelled sea turtle, reaching about a metre in shell length. Adults graze seagrass and algae in shallow coastal pastures, returning across long distances to nest on the beaches where they hatched. Populations have recovered strongly in some regions and remain depleted in others.
