Animal profile
Phocoena phocoena
The harbour porpoise is a small, blunt-headed cetacean of about 1.5 metres with a low triangular dorsal fin. It lives in cool coastal waters and feeds almost continuously on small fish. Its small body loses heat quickly, so it must eat a large share of its body mass every day.
