The harlequin beetle is a large longhorn patterned in black, red and yellow-green, with extremely long forelegs in the male. Larvae develop in the wood of dying trees, particularly figs. The beetle carries phoretic pseudoscorpions beneath its wing cases, which use it as transport between decaying trees.
