Animal profile
Choloepus hoffmanni
Hoffmann's two-toed sloth is larger than the three-toed sloths, with two claws on each forefoot and a broader diet that includes leaves, fruit and occasional animal matter. It is largely nocturnal and solitary, and sloths in general are among the slowest-digesting mammals measured.
