Asian Striped Caecilians

Ichthyophis is a genus of burrowing caecilians, many bearing a pale lateral stripe along a dark body, typically 20 to 40 centimetres long. They lay eggs in burrows near water, and the larvae are aquatic with external gills and a tail fin. The genus contains several dozen described species and new ones are still being named.
