Animal profile
Lepidochelys kempii
Kemp's ridley is the smallest sea turtle, with a nearly circular grey-green shell rarely exceeding 70 centimetres. It feeds mainly on crabs in shallow coastal water. Nearly the whole species nests along a short stretch of Mexican coast, which makes it unusually exposed to any single event.
