Eryx colubrinus
The Kenyan sand boa is a short, thick, orange-and-brown boa that spends nearly all its life buried in loose sand. Its eyes sit on top of the head and its tail is blunt. It ambushes rodents and lizards from beneath the surface and gives birth to live young.
