Lesser Kudu

Field profile

The lesser kudu is a slighter, more strongly striped relative of the greater kudu, with eleven to fifteen white body stripes and two white throat patches. It is shy, largely browsing, and rarely leaves thick cover. It is not simply a small greater kudu but a distinct species of drier bush.
