Animal profile
Cynopterus brachyotis
The lesser short-nosed fruit bat is a small pteropodid weighing around 30 to 40 grams, common in gardens and secondary growth. It eats fruit, nectar and flower parts and is an effective seed disperser in disturbed habitat. Males modify palm fronds and clusters of leaves into tent roosts.
