The mantled guereza is a black-and-white colobus monkey with a long fringe of white hair along the flanks and a bushy white tail tip. It eats mainly leaves, including mature ones that other monkeys avoid. Its hands lack a functional thumb, an adaptation to hooking branches while moving.
