Marabou Stork

The marabou stork is an enormous scavenging stork with a bare pink head, a massive wedge bill and a fleshy throat pouch. It feeds on carrion, refuse and whatever it can catch, sharing carcasses with vultures. It has one of the largest wingspans of any land bird and is a familiar presence around African towns and dumps.
