Morelet's crocodile is a moderate-sized freshwater crocodile of the Atlantic lowlands of Central America, usually around three metres. It builds mound nests of vegetation. Heavily hunted for hides through the mid-twentieth century, it recovered strongly enough to be downlisted, making it one of the clearer crocodilian conservation successes.
