Quokka

Field profile

The quokka is a small, cat-sized wallaby with a short tail and rounded face. It browses on leaves, grasses and succulents, and can climb low shrubs to reach foliage. Rottnest Island holds by far the largest population; mainland numbers are small and fragmented.
