Roseate Spoonbill

The roseate spoonbill is a pink wading bird with a bare greenish head and a long flattened bill that widens into a spatula. It feeds by sweeping the open bill sideways through shallow water and snapping shut on contact with prey. It nests colonially in mangroves and low trees, often alongside herons and ibises.
