Sacculina carcini
Sacculina carcini is a parasitic barnacle that lives inside crabs, principally the European green crab. The adult has no shell, gut, limbs or segmentation, existing as a root system threaded through the host with a reproductive sac protruding beneath the abdomen. It is identifiable as a barnacle only from its larval stages.
