Eudocimus ruber
The scarlet ibis is a vivid red wading bird with black wingtips and a long downcurved bill, found in coastal wetlands of northern South America. It probes soft mud for crabs and other invertebrates. It nests colonially in mangroves and is the national bird of Trinidad and Tobago, sharing that role with the cocrico.
