Schneider's dwarf caiman, also called the smooth-fronted caiman, is the second smallest crocodilian, with males reaching about 1.7 to 2.3 metres. It lives along small, cool rainforest streams. Like its close relative it is heavily armoured, and it spends much of its time away from open water.
