Sea spiders, class Pycnogonida, are marine chelicerates with a body so reduced that most of their organs extend into the legs. About 1,300 species are known, from one millimetre to leg spans exceeding 70 centimetres. They feed by piercing soft-bodied invertebrates with a proboscis.
