The spotted-tailed quoll is Australia's largest surviving carnivorous marsupial on the mainland, with a rich brown coat marked by white spots that continue onto the tail. It hunts birds, reptiles and mammals up to the size of small wallabies and also scavenges. It dens in hollow logs, rock crevices and tree hollows.
