Superb Fairywren

Field profile

The superb fairywren is a tiny, long-tailed Australian bird. Breeding males are brilliant blue and black; females, young and non-breeding males are brown with a pale or reddish bill and eye-ring. Groups live in cooperative family units on year-round territories.
