Animal profile
Diomedea exulans
The wandering albatross has the largest wingspan of any living bird, commonly measured between three and three and a half metres. It spends most of its life at sea, coming ashore only to breed on scattered subantarctic islands. A breeding pair raises a single chick over a cycle that takes more than a year.
