Whitetip Reef Shark

Field profile

The whitetip reef shark is a slender reef shark under two metres, with white-tipped dorsal and caudal fins and a broad flattened head. It rests in caves by day, often stacked with others, and hunts cooperatively at night. Its slim body lets it push into crevices most sharks cannot enter.
